There is no universally best coding agent for website work. There are better fits for a specific operator, repository, permission model, and review process.

Our comparisons focus on documented behavior: instruction files, terminal access, approval controls, automation surfaces, and the practical path from request to reviewed change. We separate facts from judgment and label every comparison that has not been tested empirically.

Current comparisons

The current set answers two distinct decisions. Claude Code versus Codex is about instruction conventions and the environment a team already knows how to supervise. Codex versus OpenCode is about first-party workflow versus runtime and provider flexibility. Both pages now expose their criteria as filterable qualitative matrices.

What we do not score

We do not publish invented win rates, unsupported cost models, or quality percentages. Model catalogs, subscription terms, quotas, and product interfaces change too quickly to treat a single screenshot as durable evidence. Where a conclusion is qualitative, the page says so.

The methodology starts with official documentation and narrows the decision to the job. A solo developer may value a familiar terminal workflow. A design-led team may care more about review ergonomics. An agency may need predictable permissions and repeatable checks across many repositories.

Keep the comparison in proportion
